THE REAL SOLUTION TO ADDICTION: WHY RECOVERY BEATS THE WAR ON DRUGS;
Throughout history, society has tried to fight the ills of addiction and pornography through legal and structural means. A clear example is the Prohibition era in the United States, when alcohol was banned. Despite the government’s best efforts, the trade and consumption of alcohol only continued, and even flourished underground. A similar story can be seen in the spread of pornography.
Why did these efforts fail? Because they focused only on the supply side of the problem, while ignoring the demand.
As long as there is demand, no matter how strong the laws or how many resources are deployed, the problem will persist. Entire governments, with vast intelligence networks, militaries, and billions in funding have tried to win this battle, yet the demand remains high.
And so the question becomes:
Who is consuming all these drugs worth billions?…
