A HOUSE THAT’S FIT – PART 11 – A TESTED SOBRIETY;
After we separated, I moved into a smaller house that was just enough for me. When Ann came back and we started living together again, I realized the house wasn’t enough for both of us. She had started baking, but the kitchen wasn’t suitable for her needs. I saw how hard she was trying to make the best of what she had. And I wasn’t happy in that house either. So, we decided to move.
This began a period of moving from house to house, until we eventually separated again. Finding a good house wasn’t easy, we had to consider so many things. First was security. Second, having our own meters, so we wouldn’t have tension over shared meters. Third, the issue of flooding.
Thankfully, we always left on good terms with the landlords and brokers. None of them ever had complaints about us. But still, we were never truly happy in the houses we rented. There was always something missing. And I…
