TEARS AND QUESTIONS – PART 1 – POLISHED BY FIRE;

 

My separation from Ann was deeply painful. Miscommunication and misunderstanding consumed us, and though it hurt, it felt inevitable; the weight of all the bad in our relationship had been building toward that breaking point.

My friend told me that she had a dream where a large hand of fire came and separated me from Ann while I was walking with her. Indeed, I believe God separated us because, in as much as we both needed it, none of us was ready to let go of the dysfunction in our relationship. To save us both, He had to intervene.

I spent many days crying, asking the Lord why. Why did it have to happen that way? Why was there so much misunderstanding and betrayal? Only now do I see that it had to happen. It was a kind of polishing; a painful start to a refining process that was to shape me into someone better.
