ABOUT HONESTY;
This is a chapter from my book, “The Gems I Picked Up.”
Honesty is essential in recovery. Most people that struggle with overcoming addiction have issues with being honest.
For a person to heal and grow, they must become totally honest without reservations.
When a person wants to truly recover, they have to grow in honesty. The thing that hinders people from absolute sobriety is honesty. Lying is the conventional way of doing things. A friend that I highly regard and respect retorted to me once that, “sometimes, you have to lie to get by.”
This might work for most things like business, for many of the second-hand things on the market are stolen things. From shoes to gadgets. There’s a very big network of dishonest people who steal and lie.
To be honest means going against the status quo. It means that when you withdraw a sum of money from an agent who gives you much more by accident, you return the extra…
