WHAT I SHARED WITH HER;
This afternoon, I had a deep conversation with a young lady I’ve often seen around but never really spoken to. Today, I finally got the chance.
I shared with her how much I’ve changed over the years. The things that once excited me no longer do. I’ve grown more humble, and I see life with clearer eyes. My painful separation with Ann, though difficult, inspired me to become a better man. It shifted my focus from material possessions to valuing substance, growth, and character more.
I explained how I rarely look like what I present, and I actually like it that way. I’ve learned not to chase first impressions. True value is often deeper than what you see at first glance. That’s one of the lessons recovery has taught me.
