8 DAYS TO MAKING 14 YEARS SOBER

 

I have encountered situations in my recovery where I see something and I hit the brakes hard, the lights shining red. But I’ve also encountered situations where I’m supposed to hit the brakes but I don’t. These situations, I have learnt, reveal something about my self-esteem. In instances where I’m supposed to say no and I don’t, I realize it’s a self-esteem issue and the fear of being alone that plays out in these instances.
