THROTTLE PEDAL – OUR LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT IN RECOVERY

The throttle pedal in a Formula One car is the driver’s connection to the power unit. Every movement of the pedal tells the car how much power to deliver to the rear wheels. Unlike a road car, every millimeter of throttle input matters because an F1 car produces immense power, and applying too much too soon can cause the rear tires to lose traction.

An F1 driver doesn’t simply switch between 0% and 100% throttle. They constantly adjust their input. They may apply only a small amount of throttle to stabilize the car, increase it as they exit a corner, and use full throttle only when the car can put all of its power onto the track. The fastest drivers are not those who use the most throttle. They are the ones who use it with the greatest precision.

It is this precision that I want to talk about.

In F1 And Mental Health, the throttle pedal represents our level of engagement in recovery.
