HOW HOPEFUL CONTENT CAN HELP BREAK BAD HABITS
Many times I am asked how I can help someone that wants to break a habit.
There are some ways:
1. Sit down and talk to them.
2. Expose them to hopeful content.
In my own journey, it was hopeful content that guided me. I was too guarded and in denial to accept a sit down and a talk with another. Hopeful content reached a place within me that couldn’t be reached by other means. I used to read AA literature, the Bible, The Children’s Encyclopedia by Arthur Mee, and many biographies which inspired me to be better.
Hopeful content spoke to me when I was alone, and this is what people who are dealing with something need.
We need something that can give us hope when we are alone.
Where therapy can’t reach, a book can reach. Fortunately, people who struggle with something are often very smart and aware. I believe they can read and understand more than we sometimes give them credit for.
There are many books out there, including my own, that can help spark hope in that person.
Many times I am approached by people who tell me they have tried everything, but have failed.
